If you are looking for the best ocean waves and the feeling of privacy at the beach, then you may want to reconsider what you have been informed by your search. Do you want to swim in the ocean or enjoy the view of large wave action and sea life?
There is some significant downside to staying at a condo located at a swimmable beach or visiting one of the swimmable beaches while at Cabo. Here is the low-down for you to think about.
All beaches at Cabo San Lucas are considered public beaches. This includes solicitors or anyone who wants to be on the beach. If you stay at a hotel or condo location that faces the Sea of Cortez, you will likely be subjected to solicitor torment with what many consider not-so-friendly items that are not your fun Mexican trinkets. Drugs solicitation and profane items are fairly common, and they will show it right to you while you are trying to just enjoy the day. The solicitors come to where the majority of the people are located and what is the easiest to access.
If you stay at a location such as Terrasol, Playa Grande, Grand Solmar located at lands-end facing the Pacific Ocean, there are rarely (if ever) solicitors because it is difficult for them to get to the beach because of the security gates at these resorts. They can come to them. The beaches are still public of course. But the solicitors don’t come because it just isn’t worth the effort.
The following are the beaches most commonly mentioned as “the best beaches” but you may experience the high traffic solicitors and more people.
Santa Maria
Palmilla Beach
Chileno Beach
Playa del Amor
Playa Bledito
Medano Beach (we hear this most commonly)
Cerritos Beach (another highly mentioned)
In summary: Cabo has a lot to offer with beaches, however I would take time to think about whether swimming in the salt water is so important or a more beautiful view of huge ocean waves and sea life such as whales breaching is your better option. Our condos at Terrasol are located at lands-end facing the Pacific Ocean with this terrific view of huge waves and sea life. Swimming in the ocean is not recommended only because the surf is significant. We have seen some professional surfers out in the water in front of our place.
